Obituary

TUPELO – We lost our dear friend, husband, father, and grandfather after a valiant battle with cancer. Mr. William "Bill" V. Garner Jr., 69, died at home surrounded by family June 26, 2021. Bill was born in Tupelo, MS, but lived in the Kenosha, WI area from 1959 to 2004. He attended local schools in WI and IL. He resided in the Tupelo area until his death. Bill was a hard worker who took pride in doing any job he undertook to his best ability. He began working with his parents at 13 at Orchard Hills Country Club, Waukegan, IL. He worked in the automotive field in various jobs until co=owning Tim's Amoco station, Zion, IL. He thoroughly enjoyed being a Snap-On tool dealer in Kenosha, WI for 20 years. He worked for the Tupelo Public School District for 10 years, retiring in 2018. We miss Bill terribly, but are thankful he was in our lives. His wit, individuality, intelligence, and amazing ability to repair anything are missed. He was such a unique person with his larger than life presence. He was always eager and happy to help others. He took wonderful care of his family. He loved and enjoyed us all, including our pets.

Bill is survived by his wife of 14 years, Pamela Willis Garner (Tupelo); 2 sons, Robert Garner and William V. Garner III (Kenosha, WI); and daughter, Caitlin Frenchko (Clint Frenchko) (Tupelo). Bill had a grandson, Riley Garner (son of Robert) of Kenosha, WI, and granddaughter,  Rowan Frenchko (daughter of Caitlin and Clint Frenchko) of Tupelo. Bill is preceded in death by his father, William V. Garner Sr. (Florence, AL), and mother, Evelyn Grant Garner Ambrose and stepfather, Bill Ambrose (Kenosha, WI and Tupelo, MS).

Per Bill's wishes, a private memorial will be held at a later date with his ashes being spread on his property which he so loved and enjoyed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to Tupelo-Lee Humane Society, P.O. Box 2143, Tupelo, MS 38803.

The family wishes to give our deepest thanks to Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. The nurses and staff displayed unwavering care, compassion, and kindness. We will be forever grateful to their goodness and skill.
