BRANDON / FORMERLY OF TUPELO -- Homer Duane Reeves, 83, died Friday, October 16, 2020, at UMMC in Jackson. Homer graduated from Faulkner High School and later attended Walter R. Moore Technical School where he was trained as a mechanic. He served his country in the Army spending thirteen months in Korea. Homer worked for Hyster for over thirty years. After retiring from Hyster he drove a school bus and tractor trailer. He was a faithful member of Highway Baptist Church and School in Southaven; Bissell Church in Tupelo and Liberty Baptist Church in Flowood. His favorite moments in life were being with family. Homer enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener. He loved his tomato plants and sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends.
There will be a private graveside service Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Forrest Hill Home & Memorial Park - South in Memphis. Dr. John Cofer, Pastor and Mark Branson, Minister of Music of Liberty Baptist Church will officiate the service. Holland Funeral Directors is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Goode Reeves; his children, Ronnie Reeves (Tina), and Ricky Reeves (Karen); his grandchildren, Taylor and Garrett, Joshua, Nathanael, and Brooklyn; and his great-grandchildren, Elaina and Addison; his siblings: Johnny Reeves (Pam), Louise Maddox, and Kathy Mitchell (Bob). He was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years and the mother of his sons, Jeanne Reeves; his parents, Walter and Annie Reeves; and brother-in-law James Maddox.
