Butch Williams

March 7, 1951 ~ April 11, 2022 (age 71)

Obituary

Butch Williams was one of the most loving, gentle, kindhearted, selfless man on earth.  He loved doing for others and would give his last penny to help someone!  He was full of joy and laughter!  He absolutely loved telling jokes and pulling pranks-anything to make you laugh or smile.  James Robert “Butch” Williams, 71, went to be with Jesus on Monday, April 11, 2022, at his 32 year residence in Tupelo from complications of COPD. Butch was born in Chicago, Ill. on March 7, 1951 to the late Dennis Williams and Charles and Mary Jane Outon McCollum who raised him. He married Linda Rose Farley Williams on April 6, 1990. Butch was an extremely hard working man.  He worked for Wilbert Burial Vault Company, and later, Doric Vault, where he expertly made graveside setups for countless thousands of families over the years. By night, he ran a paper route for the Daily Journal for several years. He was an ace pool shark and loved to work with wood.  Butch was an unquestioned Alabama Crimson Tide fan. He loved spending time with family and friends. Towards the end of his life, Butch enjoyed reading and learning God’s word.  He found comfort and peace through his Savior, Jesus Christ!!  Amen!!   He attended Parkway Baptist Church with his family when he was able.
