Shannon – Mrs. Sheila Kaye Burleson Douglas, 60, died Friday, January 11, 2019, at her residence. She was born December 17, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan to Thomas E. Burleson and Marie Hudnall Burleson, and lived all her life in the Old Union community. She was a 1976 graduate of Shannon High School and worked as a secretary employed by North MS Medical Center for 20 years and also co-owned several businesses in Tupelo and Nettleton. She married Sterling Larry Douglas in 1988 and they were married for 28 years before his death in 2016. She enjoyed arts and crafts, dogs, cats, birds, and horses, along with two special dogs, Faith and Fred.
Those left to mourn Sheila’s passing are her sister, Brenda Burleson Pitts (fiancé, Danny Smith) of Houston; 2 stepsons, Barry Douglas (Pattee) of Antigo, WI and David Crigger (Dana) of Zion, IL; 2 stepdaughters, Lorri Wright and Bobbi Dupree, both of Nettleton; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and nephew, Dustin Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Burleson and James Malcolm Hudnall and Jeanette Killough Hudnall.
