TUPELO - Tupelo- Ruth Stovall Dabbs, 94, native and lifelong resident of Lee County, Mississippi departed this life with faith in Christ on Monday, November 5th, 2018 at Country Wood Manor in Mantachie, MS. Ruth was born east of Plantersville in the Unity Community on March 9th, 1924 to the late Raymond Stovall and Glennie Harris Stovall. She graduated from Plantersville High School and married Thomas Wiley "T. W" Dabbs in l943. They made their home for decades on the Shiloh-Richmond Road east of Nettleton. Ruth was a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother and friend to many. She retired from the shoe department of Sears where she spend a full working career. She and her husband ran T.W. Dabbs Grocery until his death in l996. A master cook, she enjoyed her yard and keeping it perfectly manicured, singing and listening to Southern gospel music and gardening. She was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church but attended St. Mark United Methodist Church after her husband's death. A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, November 7th, 2018 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with her son, Rev. Danny Dabbs officiating and grandson, Bro. Tommy Ray Dabbs assisting. Visitation will be from 10am-service time on Wednesday only, all at Holland-Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to be serving their friends. Survivors include her children, Tommy Dabbs(Kay) of Nettleton and Danny Dabbs(Sara) of Tupelo. 11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and many friends everywhere. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.W. Dabbs, her daughter, Patsy Carnathan Dabbs, her grandson , Michael Carnathan and a great grandchild, Olivia Hamlin. Pallbearers will be grandson's-Neil Dabbs, John Dabbs, Steven Dabbs, Dustin Dabbs, Tommy Ray Dabbs and John Weston Franks.
