TUPELO – Monique Chevon Whitfield, daughter of Floyd Richardson, Jr. and Mary Richardson was born August 29, 1980 in Chicago, Illinois. She departed this life on September 16, 2019 at the North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. She was a member of New Bethel Church in Plantersville, MS.
She completed her high school education at Crete-Monee High School in University Parks, Illinois. She attended Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS earning her Bachelor Degree in Communication.
She united in holy matrimony with David Whitfield of Hamilton, MS in 2004. Unto this union two beautiful daughters were born.
She was an employee of Tupelo Public School District working at Pierce Street School in the Data Entry field. Monique also was a long time employee of the American Cancer Society in Tupelo.
She loved supporting and helping in any way possible in the community and with the activities her daughters were involved in.
Monique leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 15 years, David. Whitfield; her daughters: Briana and Kayla Whitfield; her parents Floyd Richardson, Jr. of Louisiana and Mary Richardson of Okolona, MS; a sister, Marla Richardson of Tupelo, MS; her mother-in-law, Joyce Danner; a sister-in-law, Chenelle Danner, and a brother-in-law, Jatari Danner, all from Hamilton, MS; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Monique was preceded in death by a brother, Eric Wells.
Celebration of life services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 at White Hill M.B. Church, 1987 S. Eason Blvd, Tupelo, MS. Pastor Jeffrey Daniels will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors.
