Fulton – Mrs. Joyce Teeter Banik, 83, died Monday, February 11, 2019 at North MS Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born February 6, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to Winfield Scott Teeter and Callie Nipper Teeter. She was married to John Joseph Banik for 59 years before his death March 4, 2007. They moved to the northeast Mississippi area from Hazelcrest, IL 39 years ago. Joyce retired from Hunter-Sadler where she had worked for many years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a member of the choir, Mary-Martha Society, and taught Sunday school. She was a gentle gracious lady who loved her family supremely.
Funeral service will be at 3 PM, Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Bishop David MacKain officiating. A family graveside service will follow at Andrews Chapel Cemetery in Mooreville. Visitation will be today from 5 PM to 9 PM and Wednesday from 2 PM to service time, all at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
Survivors include his children John Banik of Fulton, Robert Banik (Debbie) of Guntown, and Joe Banik (Pam) of Mooreville; sister, June Hellstrom (Al) of Fulton; brothers, Loyd Teeter (Helga) of San Jose, CA, Keith Teeter of Seattle, WA, and Kale Teeter (Annette) of IL; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Joseph Banik; one daughter, Sherrie Davis and her husband, Jim; 3 brothers, Howard, Earl and Keith Teeter; one granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Banik.
