Carolina Community-Johnny Mack Baldwin, 64, departed this life for the life eternal while being treated for blood clots at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Johnny was a big ole guy and big- hearted soul. Born on Oct. 3, 1954 in Aberdeen to the late Gordon Baldwin and Jean House Winders, Johnny was a truck driver most of his life. His last employment was with Diamond G Trucking. Johnny loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved his home in the peaceful Carolina Community of Itawamba County where he was a big part of the Monday night pickers at the community center. He loved gospel music especially bluegrass gospel and he picked a mean guitar and had a beautiful singing voice.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Mike Todd officiating. A graveside committal service will follow in the Shannon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 PM-8PM today (Tue) and from Noon-service time on Wednesday-all at Holland’s-which is honored to be serving their friends.
Johnny leaves behind his wife, Wanda Allred Baldwin to whom he married Sept 22, l979; his mother, Jean House Winders of Shearer-Richardson Nursing Center in Okolona, who is burying the last of her 5 children; a half- sister, Jessica Baldwin and half -brother, Gary Baldwin. His Allred in laws: Johnny G. Allred of Muscle Shoals, Ala, Terry Allred (Lois) of Amory, Paul Allred (Tammy) of Amory, Randall Allred of Amory, Kay Lewis (Jerry) of Iuka, Shelia Leech (Wayne) of Smithville and Shona Winders (Donnie) of Hamilton. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by father, Gordon and his siblings, Brenda Christian, Glenda Shebart, Cliff Winders, Jr. and Cathy Busby.
Pallbearers will be Richard, Terry and Daniel Allred, Patrick Maxey, Ashton Waldrop and Jerry Lewis.
