Jared Jorge Stephens

February 15, 1999 ~ May 2, 2019 (age 20)

Tupelo-Jared Jorge Stephens left this world all too early on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 after suffering a fatal asthama attack at his home in the Palmetto Community. He was 20 years, 2 months and 15 days old. Born Feb. 15, l999 to the late Denise Ross Stephens and Trannie Stephens, Jared spent his whole life living happily in Lee County Mississippi. Always the life of the party, Jared attended Tupelo Public Schools, Tupelo High School and did advanced study at Itawamba Community College. Jared loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, collecting guns, riding 4 wheelers and parading his beloved race truck all over the county. Jared loved being surrounded by his friends and was the glue that brought them together, most often at his country home. He was nick- named Papaw early on. While his life was short, the journey was always filled with adventure, excitement and great anticipation about the future. He will be sorely missed by family and a great hose of friends. A service celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Dr. Keith Cochran, Senior Pastor of West Jackson St. Baptist Church where he attended, officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 PM-5 PM Sunday, May 5, 2019 and from Noon-ser vice time on Monday all at Holland Funeral Directors, which is honored to be serving their friends. Jared leaves to mourn his life and death, his father, Trannie Stephens of Palmetto; his grandparents +who helped raise and support him, Judy (Murr) and James (PaPaw) Ready of Tupelo , his grandfather, George Ross, Sr. of Pickwick; his Godfather, Mark Price of Tupelo; his Aunts and Uncles, Jamey Ready, Jr. (Bobbie) of Tupelo, Tammy O’Neal of Booneville, Debbie Bishop (Ray) of New Site, Jimmy Stephens of Booneville, Sandra Eldridge of Tupelo and Linda Stephens Lively of Knoxville, TN. and their families. Jared was met in Heaven by his Mother, Denise, his brother, Corbyn Maddox, his uncle, George Ross, Jr. and his grandparents, James and Geraldine Stephens. Pallbearers will be Arnold Lynch, Trent Clark, Dillon Henderson, Josh Walker, Taylor Morgan and Ryan Magee. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Harwood, Charles Duke, Jimmy Todd and Mark Price.
