David Wayne Bailey

January 1, 1958 ~ April 1, 2019 (age 61)

David Wayne Bailey

Albany, GA/Tupelo - On April 1, 2019, Wayne made his last journey, one that would take him to his final destination.  He arrived home and is resting in the arms of God.  David Wayne Bailey was born on January 1, 1958 in Tupelo, Ms. Wayne resided In Tupelo, Ms. until his mother passed in 2005 after which Wayne shared his residence between his sisters; Sandy Anthony in Albany, GA and Wanda Paden in Black Canyon City, Arizona.

If you were to ask Wayne, he would tell you “It’s not about the journey, It’s about the destination.  That’s Life!”  For him, the ultimate destination was home.  Whether it be Albany, Georgia with Sandy and her family or Black Canyon City, Arizona with Wanda and her family, once he arrived, he was home.  He wouldn’t fly, so each year this two-thousand-mile journey was by car.  It was long and it was tiring, but the destination was worth it.   Once he arrived, he was happy until the time came for that next long journey.

Wayne was our brother, our blessing, and our guardian angel.  From Wayne’s perspective, the lessons we need for the journey of life are quite simple and definitely worth sharing…1. Be humble. 2. Always give more than you take. 3. Give unlimited hugs. 4. Don’t be afraid to say I’m sorry. 5. Give unconditional love. 6. Follow the Golden Rule.  7. Judge not.  8. Keep your word.  9. Forgive others.  10. Speak good words.  11.  Nothing is impossible if you have faith.  12.  The Will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.  Thanks little buddy!  The lessons were well learned and ones that will lead us home to you once our journeys are complete.  Go with God.  Go with Grace.  And by the way, save us a place!

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, David Cleveland Bailey and his mother Jettie Evelyn Bailey.

He’s survived by his 2 Sisters; Sandra Gail Anthony of Albany Georgia, married to Michael Anthony; Wanda Nell Paden, Black Canyon City, Arizona, married to Joe Paden;  3 nephews, Dustin Corey Anthony of Newton, Georgia, married to Annalee and their 3 children, Calista Evelyn Anthony, Marin Lee Anthony and Edwin Wyatt Anthony; Michael Brandon Anthony of Leesburg, Georgia, engaged to Britney Faircloth and his daughter, Haven Abigale Anthony; Jason David Filer of Phoenix, Arizona.

A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2019 at Liberty Cemetery in Nettleton.  Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel. Condolences to the family may be posted at hollandfuneraldirectors.com.
