Barbara Jean Farley

Okolona- Barbara Jean Farley, 71, died peacefully on Monday, April, 8 2018 at her home. She was born on April 14, l947 in Chickasaw County to the late Roy Earl Harrison and Nannie Louise Clark Harrison.  She graduated from Woodland High School.  A lifelong Chickasaw Countian, Barbara worked over 20 years as a Nurse’s Aide at Shearer Richardson Nursing Home in Okolona.  She was a sweet and quiet soul and loved by all that knew her.  She was a devout member of Carnation Baptist Church, loved her Lord and loved walking and attending gospel singings

A service celebrating her life will be held at 2:30 PM, Thursday, April 11th, 2018 at Carnation Baptist Church with Bro. Truman Carter and Bro. Randy Parchman officiating.  A graveside burial will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Okolona.  Visitation will be from 5 PM-8PM Wednesday and from Noon-service time Thursday all at Carnation Baptist Church. Holland Funeral Directors, Okolona Chapel are entrusted with services.

Barbara Jean is survived by her grateful family; beloved sister ,Linda Walls(Robert) of Okolona; her granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Farley Stone(Matthew), a great granddaughter, Sawyer Stone who is expected to arrive in June; a niece, Melinda Walls; a nephew, Bobby Walls and her special friends and caregivers Shemika Brinker, Marsha Tackett and her faithful beautician, Betty Carlisle.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, James “Jamie” Farley in 2008 and her siblings, Mary Sue, James Audrey, William and Pete. 

Pallbearers will be her nephews; Robbie Walls, Brad Walls; Mark Wilson, Tyler Wilson, Robert Culpepper, Randy Parker, and Michael Fowler.
