Okolona-Barbara Ann Davis Corley, 79, met her Creator on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born in Houston, Chickasaw Co. Miss. on August 9, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John Parker Davis and Mary Emma Little Davis. She married Bevlia Dean “Deno” Corley and they made their home in Chickasaw County the rest of their lives. In her early life, she worked as a seamstress for Meadow Sportswear and Puckett Garments. For the remainder of her life, she was a housewife, a wife, mother and grandmother. Barbara was a longtime member of the Carnation Baptist Church. A gentle and kind soul, she enjoyed her family and visiting with lifelong friends in Okolona.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Today, (Sunday 5/19/19) at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with her brother in law, Bro. Wayne Clegg officiating and Eddie Corley provided the music. Private burial will be in East Chickasaw Memorial Gardens north of Okolona. Visitation will be from Noon-service time today at Holland-Okolona Chapel (300 West Main St.). Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Barbara leaves behind her two daughters, Daphanie Ann Corley and Paula Dean Warren and her husband, Sam all of Okolona; very special friends, Alex and Randi Crook and their children, Abbie, Sadie, Wyatt and Haiden all of Smithville; two sisters, Glinda Clegg (Wayne) of Houston and Jackie Buskirk (Danny) of Aberdeen; two brothers, Donald Gene Davis and Kebo Davis (Debbie) all of Okolona; Her sisters in law, Shirley Davis, Opal Davis, Arnita Davis and Sally Davis. ; her step granddaughter, Amber Warren Buse (Kasey), of Guntown and great granddaughter, Aubrey Buse of Guntown and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and the extended Corley family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Deno Corley on June 3,2010 and 4 brothers, Jimmy, John, Paul and Charles Davis.
