COVID-19 Update

We, as good citizens and providers of death care services this community, are fully aware that the Covid-19 Pandemic has created great health risks for you and for we as owners /managers of Funeral Homes-as well as our staff. We have tried to be flexible in continuing to meet your death care needs with dignity and sensibility. Governor Reeves issued a Stay in Place Order effective at 5 PM today (April 3, 2020) which will further complicate our offerings of service to you. It is a dire time for all of us and we will remain in service to you as we always have. In obedience of the civil authorities and for your—and our-protection at this time, we all have agreed that it is not in the best interest of public health to have any visitations for the public. We-and you-simply can’t take the risk. As you call on us during this pandemic when you lose a loved one, we will do everything in our power to meet your needs with dignity and respect as we always have. However, please understand our need for protecting ourselves and our staff-as well as being responsible to you as well. We are all prepared to discuss with you what we might do privately that does not involve more than 10 people and the 6 ft. distancing as the guidelines dictate. We realize that grief cannot be quarantined. But, we MUST do our part to stop the spread of this horrible and deadly virus. If you have questions in anticipation of a death, please call any of us and we will discuss and share our ideas of how your loved one could be memorialized in the present. We do hope and pray this virus is contained soon and we can return to our normal traditions as we honorably serve your family. We extend our heartfelt thanks for your understanding.

At Holland Funeral Directors, we pride ourselves in being friendly, engaging citizens of our community and people who feel "called" to this ministry among our fellow brothers and sisters. All of us could be doing other work (and many of us do have other pursuits), but this is what we are called to do: to be the face of Christ to hurting people who have lost a loved one. We have no magical answer that will take away your burden of grief and loss, but we will overwhelm you with kindness and love, and we will do it with remarkable economy.

We work not only for you, but with you, and we take seriously and reverently the high calling for which we are gifted and blessed. It is the highest of honors when you call on us to help you build a bridge from death back to life. And we will stay with you long after the funeral service. This is not simply a business, nor is this a job to us. It is our providential calling to treat you just like our family, for that is exactly what will happen if you choose us to be your funeral service providers.

We are always interested in hearing from the families that we serve. Please take a moment to let us know how well we served you in your time of need. We very much appreciate your feedback.
